Step by Step Guide to Install Electrical Boxes on EPS Cement Sandwich Panel

Installing electrical junction boxes on traditional concrete walls is a labor-intensive job that requires you to chisel out a big enough cavity, adjust the position repeatedly, and then use cement mortar to fix the box in place. It often takes more than 15 minutes to finish one single electrical box, and the repaired wall surface around the box is usually uneven, requiring extra putty work later. When you use EPS Cement Sandwich Panel, this whole process becomes so simple that even a new electrician can finish one electrical box in less than 3 minutes.

First, mark the exact position of the electrical box on the EPS Cement Sandwich Panel surface according to your electrical drawing. Use a hole saw with the same diameter as the outer size of your electrical box to drill through the front cement facing layer, then dig out the inner EPS material inside the marked area to create a cavity that matches the depth of the box. Place the standard 86-type electrical box into the cavity, and you will find it fits perfectly without any gap. You can fix the box with a small amount of special adhesive for cement panels, or directly drive self-tapping screws from the side of the panel to lock the box in position. No cement mortar or extra filling material is needed. The final box surface will be completely flush with the wall panel surface, no protruding or sunken edges. This installation method not only saves a huge amount of working time, but also ensures that all electrical boxes on the entire wall are aligned at the same height, creating a very neat and professional look for the final wall finish.
