There are a few common simple mistakes that new factory owners make when installing the EPS Cement Sandwich Panel, which can lead to avoidable performance issues later on, that are very easy to prevent with a little advance planning. The first common mistake is not leaving a small proper expansion gap at the bottom and top of the wall. If you install the panels completely tight against the floor and ceiling, the small amount of normal thermal expansion and contraction that happens with temperature changes will cause the wall to buckle or develop cracks over time. You just need to leave a 5mm small gap at both ends, and fill it with flexible sealant, to prevent this problem completely. The second mistake is using the wrong type of sealant for the panel joints. Many people use cheap ordinary glass sealant that is not designed for industrial use, which will crack, shrink and fall apart after just a couple of years of exposure to temperature changes and industrial vibration. You must use a dedicated industrial grade polyurethane sealant that is designed for cement panel joints, which will stay flexible and intact for decades. The third common mistake is not adding proper support brackets for tall walls higher than 3 meters. For walls over 3 meters tall, you need to add extra metal support brackets that connect the panels securely to the main structural frame at 1.5 meter intervals, to make the entire wall structure more rigid and stable. The fourth mistake is cutting panels incorrectly on site, leaving rough uneven edges that create large gaps between panels. It is always better to ask the manufacturer to pre-cut all panels to your exact required sizes at the factory, so all the edges are perfectly straight and clean. Avoiding these four simple common mistakes will ensure your EPS Cement Sandwich Panel walls stay perfectly stable, sealed and high performing for their entire 30+ year service life.
